Faith is Not Blind

*****

Faith is not blind
Indeed it seeth more,
With gaze compassionate
Expression calm and kind
In depth and breadth more great,
Than any vision of the simple mind

Unaided by the heart
And the instinctive gut
And by the knowing soul
Dissected not apart
Harmoniously whole:
Herein of faith lieth the worthy art

But taken not on word,
On trust the scuttlebutt
Of any outer source
By outer ear be heard —
No credulity force
No effort untoward

The road lies in between
Groundlessness of belief
And science’ certainty
Since ancient times hath been
The inner eyes clear see
The present “Evidence of things unseen”

This poet is so poor that she can’t even pay proper attention. The littlest contribution, believe her, will be vastly appreciated —
