Another one bites the dust
Another knows you’re just
Another one’s down
Tellin them you’re a clown
You leave to avoid the bust
Another one gave you a hug
Another one pulled the rug
And then they’ll say
You made it that way
At heartstrings they will tug
Another new road to walk
Another new talk to talk
Maybe there’s no hope
But at least you cope
When strangers like to gawk
Because it’s better than
Those awful feelings when
Friends tell you you’re okay
And then take that away
That’s just not fair
It isn’t care,
It’s some kinda game they play
I guess lots play it too
That game of what I “give” you
Expectingly
Not really “free” —
Was that the equation, Boo?
I guess it don’t matter too
Very much, do you?
I’m outa your hair
And I know you don’t care
But I’ll keep sending blessings through

Wow Ana. Yes, those who say they “give.” But it is not real giving abd is conditional and is not seeing you as an equal. In fact it may be done just to make them feel good and they feel superior. I think I know what you are getting at in this poem. And yes, they really want you out of their hair and they have no real caring. Brilliant poem Ana.

Ah — I see you’ve been on the receiving end of some of the more difficult aspects of charity yourself a time or two?? 🙄

Probably, but I see it all the time.😳 (not sure what face I clicked on there!)

It’s the perfect face — utterly astonished, like we feel when we find out we were expected to dance!
