standing at the perimeter


of the winter bare field
in very early spring
the decaying third dimensional loam
stretching before us in
dreary sameness
we see

the first
widely scattered
one here
one there

a car covered in flowers
a van in well painted
geometric designs
local art on the tramway
no ad ad ad to be seen

a whole family with big smiles
and pink and purple hair
hand in hand

people with flowing hair
and big smiles
no hair at all and big smiles

people looking
like themselves
instead of each other

food replicators being
patented as i write
take us right up
outa that old food chain
brothers and sisters
no more need to kill to eat

people buying each other cars
comforting each other’s children
each other

the tiniest green shoots
of ease
compassion and dare we say

look good people look
they are rising now
