Intangible Gifting (Reprise)

*****

My gifts are intangibles
Hardly count at all
When you’re calculating
Where advantage fall

So I helped to make your path
That much more smooth and even
Will aught credit I receive
Is much less than a given

For at the moment in which I
Gave to you that gift
Which after receiving
Furnished your whole world a lift

It felt more like a challenge
To your thought process of habit
And took another day or two
For your consciousness to grab it

By that time it felt to you
That it’s all on your own
Past that sticky wicket
Your inner ball has gone

While I live on, if do at all
In your memory
As someone conversation with
Struck you unpleasantly
